I personally started doing glass paintings in 2015. It was a random idea to gift a neighbor. It is not officially the first inspiration. I had no intention to do something unique. It was just an accident.
What excitement when the piece came out beautifully? People appreciated me. I was left speeches. This was how I slowly gained interest in glass art.
Over the years, I have made numerous pieces, some of them including commissioned pieces as well. This conversion of an accident to a hobby, and now a lifeline has been beautiful.
The First Inspiration
Looking back at the journey, I am proud of my growth. Although I still have a lot to learn, I am thankful to have been in the company of some amazing people. This gave me the license to freely try out new skills without any judgments.
There were a number of challenges that do keep popping up during the process. (Let’s keep that discussion for another day). However, my sole motive was to enjoy the process. I do not let stress and impatience affect my relationship with glass paintings.
Above all, God has been kind enough to just bring in the right people at the right time. Will mention the people and make a full article some other day. But had it not been for the support of some amazing people, I might have lost interest. Or even if I had an interest, I would not have had an active social presence.
Concluding Thoughts
Glass paintings not only gave me adequate time to relax, but I can also proudly say that I made wonderful new friends through this. This includes other artists, art enthusiasts, and even gamers.
Sometimes I just sit back and wonder, had I not started glass painting, would I ever have any other hobby? These questions sometimes send a chill down my spine. But then It does not make a difference now! I have woken up my inner spirit.
One day soon I would love to be recognized for the paintings I make. Read about Dale Chihuly– the biggest inspiration for glass paintings.
Thank y’all for reading so far. Continue supporting me. In the next one, I will be writing about my very first glass painting, stay tuned.
